Offshore Augmentation

Offshore and on-site staff augmentation relationships are often mistakenly referred to as offshore outsourcing when staff is provided by an Indian vendor or a local vendor with resources in India. The problem with this assumption is that companies then try to manage and measure these relationships as if they are outsourcing relationships.

Typical outsourcing service-level agreements (SLAs) and management techniques do not apply to staff augmentation relationships because the vendor doesn't control or manage the system or application; it just provides staff. Thus, the client company is ultimately responsible for application service levels. Companies participating in staff augmentation relationships must understand the difference between offshore outsourcing and staff augmentation, and they must create relevant SLAs for each type of relationship.

iWork manage Offshore Enagements with SLA's that allow us to setup dedicated teams for our clients based on the built-operate-transfer model of engagement.
